I like about 6 or 7 Rap songs, and that's stretching it. In the 70's I started listening to Rock n' Roll. One of the first albums I owned was Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic. "Walk this Way" was my favorite song. The first time I heard it by Run DMC and Aerosmith in '86, I liked to have shit, I thought it was the greatest thing ever. I bought a pair of white Adidas because of the video. I never did listen to anymore Rap but I thought it was really a sad day when someone shot Jam Master Jay in 2002. This was the first song I heard this morning when I got out of bed, I've been in a good mood every since.
RUN D.M.C. ROCKS!

Walk This Way Remix

(RUN-Muh-F**kin’-D.M.C. & Aerosmith)

[Run D.M.C.]
Now there's a backseat lover
That's always under cover
And I talk til my daddy say
Said you ain't seen nuthin
Til you're down on her muffin
And there's sure to be a change in ways
Now there's a cheer leader
That's a real big pleaser
As far as I can reminisce
But the best thing love it
Was her sister and hercousin
And it started with a little kiss, like this

She starts swingin
With the boys in tune
And her feet just fly up in the air
Singin hey diddle diddle with a kitty in the middle
And they swingin like it just don't care
So I took a big chance
At the high school dance
With a lady who was ready to play
It wasn't me she was foolin
Cause she knew what was she was doin
when she told me how to walk this way

[Chorus: Run-D.M.C. and Aerosmith]
She told me to
Walk this way!
Talk this way!
Walk this way!
Talk this way!
She told me to
Walk this way!
Talk this way!
Walk this way!
Talk this way!
Well just gimme a kiss!
Oooh, a-like this like this!

[Run-D.M.C.]
School girl sleazy
With a classy kind of sassy
Little skirt hangin way up her knee
It was three young ladies
In the school gym locker
And they find they were lookin D
I was high school loser
Never made it with a lady
Til a boy told me somethin I missed
That my next door neighbor
had a daughter had a favor
And I gave the girl just a little kiss, like this

(*Insert Joe Perry’s Classic Guitar Solo Here*)

[Aerosmith]
She starts swingin with the boys in the school
with her feet flyin up in the air
Singing hey diddle diddle with a kitty in the middle
I was swingin like I didn't care
So I took a big chance at the high school dance
With a miss who was ready to play
Wasn't me she was foolin cause she knew what she was doin
when she told me how to walk this way

She told me to
Walk this way!
Talk this way!
Walk this way!
Talk this way!
She told me to

Walk this way!
Talk this way!
Walk this way!
Talk this way!
Well just gimme some head!

(Steven Tyler wigs out a bit here,
then followed by more Joe Perry)

Well here's where my age is going to show! I love music, but rap isn't music to my ears. I've tried listening, but it don't get it. Its always BITCH this and HO that, and a bunch of angry lyrics. Another thing I don't understand is that stuff they call music that is just deep resonance (electronic/mechanical music). You hear it at intersections and it makes your vehicle vibrate they play it so loud, and I swear it alters your heart beat!

I can hear it now... "Boy I hope I never get that old!"

Hey Chuck,

I was surfin' and found http://adukorero.blogspot.com/ he needs a few comments dropped into his blog. If you read his entries he has a good sense of humor! His last entry had a heading of "does anybody read my blog?" He lives in a trailer with no heat and its winter in New Zealand now -- he needs some humor in his life!

P.S. I caught my typo in Bab's blog! I meant a-r-o-u-n-d!!!

i don't like rap either but every now and then one comes along with the right beat, usually one that is a remix of an old rock or motown song.

i tried to go to
http://adukorero.blogspot.com/ several times and it said "url could not be found", double check it if you can and get back to me.

See all the gold hanging off those guys? If that's real, at $700 an ounce, we could make some money by mugging rappers. It beats robbing liquor stores, you have to watch out for the shotgun armed dwarves in the coolers there.

Right on Chuck. Aerosmith is definitely one of my favorites. I saw them last March with Cheap Trick where they opened their summer tour in Lubbock. I'm also a huge Cheap Trick fan, seen em twice. Rock on Dude.

blatfest - good to hear from you. i'm here everyday. come back anytime.

montanus - if i'd been around a couple of hundred years ago (maybe less) i would have been a highway man.

"many a young maid lost her bobbles to my trade - many a soldier shed his life's blood on my blade - the bastards hung me in the spring of '25 - but i am still alive"

whozfan - i saw aerosmith in '79 and cheap trick in '82 or '83, i caught a pick from rick nielsen, he played his double neck guitar that looked like him.
