It's Always Something

My 12 year old nephew Daniel, is a world class ranked kickboxing champion for his age and weight bracket. He is a remarkable kid. He is disciplined and works out regularly. He has surpassed his instructor and is looking for someone worthy of his caliber to train him. My brother got a call from his school today, it seems young Daniel was caught with a bag of Marijuana. Now he has been sentenced to 45 days of Alternative School. That’s a separate school for problem students and students needing disciplinary action other than what the mainstream school can provide. His story is that he found the bag at school and was not sure if it really was weed or not and that he wanted to bring it home to his dad to see if it was real or not. He says that he did not show it to anyone or mention it but two little punks narked on him and got him busted. Not to mention that the school called the police and now my brother is on his way to the police station to deal with them an the matter. Daniel is a good kid and I tend to believe him for the most part but still he is only 12 and still does not have the ability to make the best decisions all of the time. But what ever the truth may be it remains that two little punks narked on him and I’m sure that Daniel is a lot better kid than either of them. I wonder if they realize that he could mop the floor with both of them. Hell the weed is probably theirs. I hope the police go easy on him, he‘s been through enough already. This could be something that follows him around and blows up in his face someday. It only takes one mistake.

Here's hoping the powers that be see this for what it is a foolish decision made by an inexperienced kid.

Hiya Chuck,

Yeah, kids make some pretty stupid choices and it always seems worse than it is...My sisters kid boy was pissed off at one of his class mates last year for stealing an unfinished love letter to one of the girls in his class. The other kid was showing it to all and sundry and teasing him so my nephew decided to threaten him with a small pocket knife to get the letter back ...oh boy, that didnt go down well.... Now my nephew is normally a quiet type of chap and is the youth leader for his church etc... But the story got to a teacher who took it to the Headmaster and the other kids parents threatened legal action - it was a long expensive lesson to my 12 year old nephew...
I hope all goes well for yours ....
