In Broken Arrow Oklahoma, about 30 miles from my home there is an Exotic Animal Sanctuary. They rescue animals from stupid people that think they can raise them as pets but when they get too big or troublesome to handle they get rid of them. The sanctuary has lions, tigers, zebras and a variety of other animals, they survive off of grants, donations and other private funding. In the last 6 months 5 grey wolves have mysteriously died, autopsies have shown that they have died from some type of poisoning such as meat laced with rat poison. Officials believe that the tainted meat was thrown over the fences by some sick individual. These wolves started their lives as pets and can be handled quite easily by humans, the bad thing about it is that they have relied on humans for food so they will normally eat whatever is given to them. Normally 70 % of the food for the sanctuary comes from donations, but now all food donations have been halted until further notice, this has put a large drain on the their finances now that 100 % has to be paid for. Right now a 6th wolf has taken ill and does not look like it’s going to make it. I would love to catch the sick son of a bitch that is responsible for this, I would take him (assuming that it’s a him) out to the woods and set him on a stump, I’d nail his nuts to the stump and then catch the stump on fire. Most wolves in North America are endangered anyway, from years of ranchers poisoning and trapping them to keep them away from stock animals, I can understand protecting what’s yours but it was taken way to far. I’ve known a few people who have owned part wolf mixes and they have been fine pets. Anyone who would kill one for sport or whatever perverse reason is a sick Asshole in my book. I hope this matter at the sanctuary is resolved soon.

we have a great place called Wolf Hollow nearby us that educates about gray wolves in the wild, etc. I cant imagine something like that happening. How sad someone has to tamper for kicks, sick bastards, reminds me of the highway shooters in a way.

my husband had a wolf, an artic wolf to be precise. She was beautiful.. but would take your arm of ffor another elping of his moms spaghetti.. lol..

Heque (which means 'Ice' in inuktitut) was a realy great animal though, and the whole family was hit pretty hard when she died last year.

People who poison animals are fuckwads. And karma does come around.

sotj - good to hear from you again, you're right about the highway shooters, i just can't grasp random violence, it makes no sense to me.

xmichra - heque is a cool name (no pun intended) i can't stand the thought of losing a pet, i also beleive in the karma thing, it'll come around one way or the other.

People are just plain fucked up sometimes. Back in 1995-97, we had MC wars going on among us. I had two pure white Siamese, Jake & Ellwood. They poisoned Jake with rat poison and he bled out in my arms. Ellwood, faired better but someone did something or put something in his rectum. It looked like it had been blown out. He was fine but couldn't hold his bowels. It's just enough to piss off a preacher. Yea, put their dick in a vice, cut off the handle, set the place ablaze and hand 'em a saw.

we had 3 rotts poisoned one time, 2 died and the 3rd one made it but was retarded from then on, we had to move it over to my brothers because we were scared to try and keep anything in our yard for a long time, every single one of our neighbors had dogs also, our yard was surrounded on 3 sides by dog owners and none of their dogs were hurt, i'd like to have caught those sorry bastards, i still don't like any of my neighbors. i hate living in the city.

Hey Chuck..long time no post..how are you and yours faring..very well I hope.

This kind of thing can make me crazy like almost no other. Animals..all animlas are a precious gift. I don't know what I'd do if I caught the person responsible..truly.

Cowardly bastard..the world as it is today is a sad stae of affairs for the wild animals..and tame..that remain.

We've literally pushed them out of safe haibitats until they've no choice but the hunt near cities and towns.

I'm not sure how this will ever be resolved. But I too am a huge believer and witness to the karma effect..and it's probably one of the only things left that may save them in the end.

As for the beautiful grey's in your sanctuary..my prayers will go out to them on this night. Sometimes those responsible are closer to home than we may think. It wouldn't surprise me if the persoin is in some way close to the sanctuary itself.

Take are guy and have a great week-end.

FIYAH, Chuck!
Somebody has to stand up for the animals that are being abused. I think that in the case of retribution, you must make sure that the stump is in a clearing and that all loose tinder is removed first...other than that I support you!

I detest people who abuse animals!!! They should be caught and suffer exactly what they did to the animal!! After that, they should be given to you and then you can finish them off!!!

i like animals better than most people (no offense people) especially of the canine variety. i'd rather see an animal shot than to die slowly like that, it's against all that i know. take care all.
