I first saw this on Xmichra’s site and then on Bab’s. I’m still not sure what “Tag” means and I sure as Hell don’t know what a “Meme” is.

I don't know the official definition, but I have seen this tag thing before, it's popular on a lot of the Israeli blogs I read. Basically, somebody sends you a bunch of questions and you're supposed to answer them and then send them on to someone else. I'm not sure what the purpose is.
i'm always the last to know things, the first one i saw was a couple of weeks ago and i wondered about them, then i've seen about 8 since then. so i thought what the heck, jump on the bandwagon and get it over with.

A tag is just like playing 'tag' when you were kids. You get tagged by someone to answer the questions, and then you in turn tag someone else to do the same. The purpose is entertainment, and learning what another person thinks given the same questions. I love them, because I am a human nature study freak. That and I love some of the answers people give.. funny, sad, and just shocking.
A 'meme' is a questionare or tag or quiz that you answer all about you. Some tages do not require personal information, or do not intale you talking directly about yourself. A meme does.. it is about you or 'me me' as it applies.

a meme is a thing you fill out that is all about yourself. no one else. no other links to people.. that sort of thing. Like the one you just did.
a tag is like finding random pics to describe people on your friends list (or side bar whatever) and nothing about yourself... which would make it a meme.
BUT you can have a meme be a tag...
and a tag is not nessesarily a meme.
Sorta get it?? I can tag you with both types to see the difference if you like.

MEme - is a stupid word. but it is a questionare thing that asks you to answer questions about yourself ans post them on your blog. You can choose to tag people with a meme so that they answer the questions too.
Tag - is a quiz or questionare that you receive from someone else. It can be as simple as giving you a quiz to fill out about yourself (also known as a meme) or it can be something not about you, like giving a picture of a fairy for good luck and asking you to post that on your web page and tag others, so that they have good luck too.

tag = could be a meme but not nessesarily. could be a picture or question(s) sent to you to put on your web page for whatever reason.
i've seen comments on posts that just say, "you've been tagged" where is the picture, tag, meme, or whatever ?

I tried to look at your blog, but when I went from your blogspot profile to your blog link there was just a little blurb saying you had moved for security reasons. Are you still blogging? Incidently, I still don't see the point in asking people specific questions about themselves but there must be some because so many people do it. Seems like a chain letter to me.
Chuck - when you see something in my comments that just tell me that i have been tagged, you go to that persons site to retrieve the actual tag. thats how us bloggers do that.. instead of e-mailing, you comment :)
