This is my dog Tig

He's my real best friend, he don't ask for much. He lives for sausage and getting his head scratched. I kind of like sausage and scratchin' myself. He doesn't really like very many people, that's ok with me, cause I don't either. He's the real boss of the house, what's mine is his, and if I'm eating something he's got to be eating too, both my dogs do. He played out in the rain today so of course he had to come in and dry off on my bed. he gives me a lot of pleasure and I wish I could treat other people the way I treat him. I never get mad at him, I always take his side and he always comes first. When ever I am mad or just in a bad mood, he helps calms me down.

He does have a back leg that bothers him sometimes, it may be arthtitis, if he sleeps on it wrong he gets up and limps for a while and has a little trouble jumping. I sometimes wonder if someone has kicked him. He's not the friendliest dog by no means, but he loves me and treats me good, he never gets mad at me and is always on my side. If someone did kick him and I found out about it, I'm afraid that someone would get a visit in the middle of the night, it wouldn't be a social call and it would probably get quite ugly real quick.

They use to say a human year to a dog was seven years to one. Now experts say that has changed due to the fact that people and dogs live longer. Now they say physically that the first two years of a dogs life are equal to ten years each and then every year after that is equal to five. So a three year old dog is really twentyfive. Tigg, the best I can figure (because I don't know how old he was when he got me) is close to thirty or thirtyfive (3 or 4 years old) he's pretty healthy and he's an easy keeper (low maintenance) he should live another six or eight years with any luck. I don't even want to think about life without him. I think the life span of a dog shows that God does love Dogs (and all animals, even cats) The normal way of things is that the man outlives the dog, maybe breaking the man's heart for a time but he is strong and will get on and get over it (he may never own another dog again) but it teaches him about life. What would be worse is if the man should go first and break the heart of the dog. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, let alone a dog, my dog. I would never want him (or them, I have two dogs) to miss me or be treated bad by someone else. That's probably why children are supposed to outlive the parents, a child is strong and can get by, and get on with it. A parent should never go though the heart break of losing a child, it's just not right, I may be a little selfish on this thought, but that's just the way it is. Loving is a Hard Thing. Being Loved is Sometimes Even Harder. I tried to load a picture of my other dog Dutchy but the Blog Monster wouldn't let me, she's more Emily's dog anyway but she has a big piece of my heart too. Any day that you love a dog (or cat) and they love you back, is a good day. I Hope You Have A Good Day.

Hi Sweety, my cat is my heart. Fat Bastard comes in from outside with shit hanging off his fur which is now looking like a Rastafarian, he's so knotted up but I love him. I'd probably not let a amn in my bed in the same condition. That's unconditional love which is exactly what he gives me. He doesn't say to me,"Oh BTW, your ass is getting huge and you need to color your hair and do something about cleaning this room up and while your at it bitch get me some more fucking Friskies." It's unconditional love and he knows I'd drop kick his ass, Haha!! Sweet Dreams My Chuck!!

my dog talks shit to me all the time, when he's lickin' his nuts he says "what's the matter you fat bastard (me, not your cat) you jealous or something?" then he says "what you mean you ain't got my sausage bitch?" he gives me crap like that daily. i think he even wipes his ass on my pillow.

Yo Chuck,

How big is Tigg? Sometimes small dogs that have to jump a lot get football knee -- I know what you're thinking, you're thinking Tigg has never played football in his entire life! I had a sister who happened to be a Chihuahua who started having problems with her leg, I took her to the vet and was informed that she had football knee from jumping up on furniture for many years. You might want to have Tigg checked out because it can be surgically corrected. Mija, my Chihuahua, lived to be 23 years old. She had all her teeth, could see and hear just fine, but her kidneys gave out. I miss her to this day. Six months after Mija passed a stray cat had three kittens in my back yard. I adopted all three and named them Missy, Sissy, and Bubba. I had Bubba for 9 years, Missy for 12 years, and Sissy for 19 years. This is the first time in my life without a four legged family member.

you my friend are a lucky woman, or your just good to your pets, most people i know only get 11 to 14 years out of a dog, i had a cat one time for 4 years and thought i was doing good, tigg is a huge rat terrier i'm terrible at guessing weight, maybe 18, 20 lbs, he's built real thick for a small dog. he never makes a noise or acts like it hurts he just limps and has to try a couple of times to jump up on the bed, i'm taking him (both dogs) as soon as i can to the vet. they both need a good once over anyway. emily liked getting your message, that thing works kind of slow, i figured it was because i only have dial up. well have a good day and get yourself a pet.

Mija didn't cry until the football knee got really bad. I guess the ligaments that hold the knee securely stretch and the knee begins to slip out of joint or pinches some nerves. Yeah, I'm really good to my animals. I had a German Shepard when I was a kid that lived to be 14 year old (big dogs hardly ever live that long). I had a friend who had a cat that was 27 years old that cat couldn't see, hear, snell, or taste it's fur looked like a really old dirty rug, but it refused to die. I'm always lookin' for my next four legged buddy that I can spoil rotten.

P.S. I notices Bab's blog no longer allows anonymous comments? Is she having problems again?

We had a dog like that when I was little her name was snoekie. She lived for about 10 years when she died I did not even go to school the next day because we had a funeral to attend to. We lived on a farm so we had our own cemetary for all our animals.

"I think the life span of a dog shows that God does love Dogs (and all animals, even cats)"
hehehe... that was big of ya Chuck!
Tigg is super cute. and if he has rotty in him (looks like he does) then his years are measured in fours after the first year. Just a link at Eukanuba that tells you how old your dog is according to breed. wish i had that link...

anyways. I personally don't like dogs because i am cold and shallow (that's a bit much. i just don't want to own one) but i like the puppy ears. i could pet the puppy ears all day! he looks so cute!

There was an old man in his late eighties that lived down at the foot of the mountain in a shack. He was always out on the porch in his rocker and he had an old white and black spotted hound. The old guy died, and his family took the dog off to live with a son about ten miles off. The dog came back to the shack. The family got tired of going and getting him so they left him. I tried feeding him but he wouldn't eat. He got weaker and weaker, and eventually I brought him up to my place and tried to force feed him, but no use. He finally died. There's no doubt in my mind that he missed the old guy so much he just decided to die. There's a statue of a little dog on a grave at Gray Friars Church in Edinburg, Scotland. I went to see it years ago. The dogs owner died, and the dog came every day and spent the day by the guys grave for years, until he died and was buried next to his owner. I never saw any animal, including people, that showed such loyalty.

xmichra - yeah! everytime i think of you it's all about the "cold and shallow", and marks gay, montanus is a pacifist, Di hates kids, and i'm skinny, so get a job and a hair cut 'cause you ain't foolin' no one.

whatalotoffun - i forget how many animals are buried in our back yard, 4 dogs, 3 cats, 2 turtles, 2 birds, and a lizard i think. keep posting those jokes.

montanus - that's a great story about both dogs. that's why i set more store by my dogs than i do people, i hate to be that way sometimes but they've earned it.

Di - having a dog is like having a child, you're never ready but it always works out fine, get that boy a dog! i never wanted inside dogs and i let my kid talk me into it and now i've grown to appriciate them more than any i've ever owned (although this has got me thinking about some good old dogs i've had) get that boy (and girl) a dog! when i was young, beagles were my favorite, one of the first books i read was "Benji The Beagle" have agood day all.

I do miss the ocean tho... the ponds just dont cut it LOL I had a horse, Sally. She died of old age. I hope to get another some day - can't really afford it now.
